About us

Stichting Infancy Matters Foundation (SIM) is a non-profit organisation whose aim it is, to improve the quality of life of children in need in Brazil. In Brazil several child care homes exist, however they receive little or no financial support from the Brazilian government, they are totally depending on donations of sponsors to survive.

These child care homes do not only shelter orphans, but also abused children or children from families with problems as drug abuse or extreme poverty. Very often the conditions in these homes are extremely bad, shortages of personnel and materials, and sometimes there is simply not enough food for the children.

Its or goal to improve the quality of life of these children, not only through Financial support, but also administrative and legal support. Besides this we want to introduce these Brazilian institutes (like AMAR) to Company’s and private person, to simply improve the awareness of the problems and improve the possibilities for solutions.

Transparency

All actions we perform will be done, based on absolute transparency, by publishing on our website the progress of all projects we execute. In this case sponsors can follow and control the overall progress, including all financial actions we have taken.

As we have no “overhead costs” at all, at least we will not charge them to our foundation, all negotiations with suppliers and contractors will be done by us, and we also ourselves take care of all payments to beneficiaries directly, so we can completely control all our expenses

The argument of sponsors not to support a foundation is that they feel too much money is spent on overheads of the foundation. This very logical argument in our case is not valid, simply because we have no overhead costs whatsoever.

This approach of our foundation however directly than limits our size or growth, as we want to keep everything in our hands. If we would grow too big, we would not be able to guarantee that anymore.
